lame-o name, but based off the deer tick song of the same name.

anyway, this is usually how many times i sketch thumbnails for any illustration.  these span about… 3-4 months?  i often think of something aesthetic without real meaning and later tailor it when it gains relevance later on.

in other news, my team and i landed a table at ape this year!  this brings much excitement and anxiety.  

excitement:  my team and i will be under the name Live in Tonga (as in, “we’re live in Tonga).  they’re all super talented :D

anxiety:  having a table at a comic convention brings to attention that i don’t really draw comics.  OH GEE, what is a poser like me supposed to do?  work like hell apparently!  granted i find the time to do so, i really want to develop an old “children’s book” concept from my years at RISD.  (spoiler— it’s about king henry VIII and his wives hehe).  wish me luck…
